At 8:30am, parents will be able to drop off their children to be greeted and signed in by the staff. Short activities will take place such as dodge ball, soccer, football, and trivia, until the camp begins at 9:00am.

Instructors/campers will lead the warm-up exercises and stretches to get the campers ready for the day.

After stretching, the groups will begin to warm up their arms, with specific throwing exercises. On Mondays, campers will learn proper throwing techniques, as well as specific drills emphasizing proper form. Each day, a new throwing drill will be introduced, as well as more advanced throwing skills.

“Defensive Drills”
On Mondays, campers will be given the chance to learn basic skills for both infielding and outfielding. Then from Tuesday until Friday, the groups will be split into infielders and outfielders in order to give more specific instruction for each respective position. If campers are unsure of their position, or just want to try something different, they will be encouraged to try infielding one day and outfielding the next.

“Hitting Drills”
Hitting will be taught with an emphasis on ensuring the proper techniques before engaging in live pitching. In this time slot bunting, baserunning and situational hitting will also be taught.

All the groups will get together for a short water break. Depending on interest, it may be possible to play some fun games such as dodge ball, octopus, stones, and other activities.

“Position Specific Practice”
At this time, campers will have the opportunity to learn in detail a position of their choice. This is a great chance to teach in small groups, or even in some cases, individual instruction.

Campers should bring a lunch to camp everyday. After finishing their lunch, the campers will get a chance to unwind and enjoy a bit of free time. There will also be structured activities set up for whoever wants to join in.

Campers will break back into their groups from before lunch, and continue to work on either hitting or defense. This will be a chance for campers to build on the new skills that they learned in the morning. In order to best facilitate improvement among campers, the instructors will design mini-games and situations that let the kids play and experiment. We feel that if simply given the chance to play and learn from experience, campers will be much more successful than with constant drills and technique correction.

A quick water and snack break will be taken.

At the end of the day, contests and live games will take place. Contests will consist of ground ball competitions, fly ball competitions, stealing competitions, and hitting competitions. This is an opportunity for campers to have some fun and show off the skills they have learned. Players will be assigned a team on the first day and will participate in tournament style games throughout the week.

On Fridays we will have the championship game and parents are encouraged to come and watch their kids.

Camp ends at 3:30 PM. Parents are welcome to pickup their children between 3:30 and 4:00 PM. There is no additional cost up until 4:00pm.

In the case that a camper cannot be picked up by 4:00 PM, we offer extended care until 4:45 PM at a cost of $30.00 per week.

In case it rains, we have access to Forest Hill Arena, just next door to our two fields at Memorial Park. In addition to renting a room for games and other indoor activities, we are able to use one of their two ice surfaces (which is not frozen in the summer) for physical activity and baseball instruction. If it is raining in the morning or afternoon, drop off and pick up will take place at the parking lot to Forest Hill Arena.
